  • I wonder if this will be the only time I will use xanga all year. *shrug* Not that I was ever a die hard user, but I'm not much of a blogger anymore.  It snowed today for the second time this academic year.  I don't think today's precipitation was measurable, but the storm is predicted to drop about an inch in the next couple days.  Here are a few photo albums that may give you an idea what's been going on since my last update.  A picture is worth a thousand words, right?  Pshh, just humor me because I feel like being lazy

It took long enough for the file to upload onto the server, but it works.

I cannot believe that there is only one week until my first year in college is complete.  This leaves me with four short years until I must take full responsibility of myself and pay my dues to society via economic and political contribution, as well as taxes.  Yeah, that's a scary thought.  Over the past several weeks, I've been doing a lot of personal reflection and want to take a little space out of this post to thank you for your patience, compassion, and insights.  Heh, my Verizon minutes must be through the roof, but that's going to be a problem that I will deal with later...

I have never been big in sharing personal thoughts on a public domain, but here's a very shallow glimpse at what has been going through my little head.  God's grace is amazing and I stand in awe of His glory.  I am also grateful for the friendships and bonds I have made over the past academic year.  I know that is cliché to say "words cannot express how much you all mean to me," but it is true.  Thank you for simply being you and participating in priceless memories.  Okay, I apologize if you wanted me to spill my inner-most feelings, but I changed my mind.  Online is just not a place for this information.  I wish you much luck in taking finals/SATs/AP exams/midterms and safest travels on your journey home.

I doubt my parents will ever read this post, but I dedicate the following to them with highest regards.  I know that I do not acknowledge it enough, but I truly appreciate all that you have done for me from birth to present.  You raised me to be the person I am today and still guide me when I am lost.  I may not be perfect, but I love you.

  • Random Picture: Do you remember this event?

It was none other than the first inter-divisional project of 2004: Torrey Pines HS (division 37south) and Scripps Ranch HS (division 21) at the Powerhouse Park beach clean-up.  Thank you all for your dedication and hard work.

  • I'm a little bit late, but Happy New Year!  I'm back in Boston right now and don't know what happened to the weather.  It was mid 50s a couple days ago and now it's snowing.  The new semester brings new challenges, new friends, and new hope.  It seems odd that people, myself included, seem so rushed during college when, in reality, there is exponentially more free time than in high school.  This brings be to ponder about what people actually do with their time when not studying or sleeping.  What is he true meaning of a lifestyle?  Why do people choose to follow a particular pattern or crowd, when society tells us to define ourselves and be independent?  Is lifestyle defined by one's outward appearance or daily activities?  How do individuals choose a lifestyle and how does it change with time?

  • 'Tis the season...Happy Christmahanukkwanzica to all!  This merry season brings many peace and joy, but I got stuck with three essays and an equal number of final exams .  Isn't college life wonderful?  On another note, it snowed on Friday.  That's right, it finally snowed!  I'll admit that I have been hit by considerable size hail in my lifetime, but never seen snowflakes from the sky before.  This was the first major storm of the season in New England, which dropped around nine inches of snow on campus.

So, what does one do when it is his first time seeing snow falling from the sky?  Well, I did what any other senseless freshman in college would do.  First, I grabbed a tray from the cafeteria, then took a running start down the snow covered, monolithic slope in front of my residence hall.  I learned (the hard way) that if you try riding the tray on your knees, then you will end up toppling face first into the snow.  Other than almost walking into a lamppost because of the "whiteout" conditions, I believe my first encounter with snow went well.

Here are a couple of things to keep in mind during the upcoming holiday season: safety first!

*Will return to San Diego on Sunday.
